Our Happy Birth Day

To leave you, I‘ve come to you.
This film explores the experience of giving birth from Taiwanese women’s perspective. It also records the entire birth-giving process of two mothers.One of the breathtaking shots – giving birth in water – will have audiences shed tears.  “Our Happy Birth Day” is directed by two female directors, Su Yu-Ting and Chen Yu-Ching. Through the capture of the pregnancy process for both women, this film explores how Taiwanese women give birth. The film is nominated at the Busan International Film Festival.

“Love is like a jail. Once you are in, you can’t get out.” Adapted from a Korean film, “More than Blue,” this film touches a sad love between two people that is more than a friendship but not yet lovers. Both are in love with each other and yet cannot escape their destiny. The film was a big surprise at the Taiwanese box office. It has earned more than NTD 220 million new Taiwan dollars. It is the top-grossing domestic film of the year. It also received first place at the 23rd Busan International Film Festival.

Liberation from the old traditional form of marriage and values.
The film tells the tale of two same sex partners trying to establish an ideal family in London. However, their relationship was completely destroyed because of a gay couple. A decision was made to go back home to fight for custody of the child. At the same time, what they have to face is the conflict with traditions from the previous generation. This film received the 104th Best Script award. It was selected in Outfest Los Angeles as the opening film for the Taiwan International Queer Film Festival and the closing film for the Hong Kong Lesbian & Gay Film Festival. This movie was also nominated in the Asia-Pacific Film Festival and Barcelona Lesbian & Gay Film Festival.

This film is adapted from Taiwanese and Japanese urban legends with Hu Yeh (Tiger God) shot throughout the story. It may appear to be a true horror movie. However, the value this film would like to convey is love.

This film deals with the dilemma of revenge from the brotherhood of gangsters and the teaching of “winning people by virtue”, as well as the cooperation between the gangster and the police in private; the film is directed by Yan, Cheng-Kuo, a famous actor from “The Kung-Fu Kids” series who had a rough life afterwards.
